Sega SG-3000

Post by ransom » Thu Apr 13, 2017 5:00 am

Hi

What folder do the sg3000 games go?

I put them in the already created sg3000 folder buy I do not see the sg3000 logo in emulation station?

This one stumped me good and proper but I managed to figure it out. Looking at the list of folders in the roms folder, sg-1000 and sc-3000. My romsets were sg-3000 and sc-1000. Looking at the provided artwork vs the list of games in the text file... both emu and romsets vs each other, it seems someone, somewhere got SOMETHING backwards... as the correct files and roms are there but somehow got swapped. I might not be wording this the best way possible... Grab both romsets, and look at whats expected vs whats there, its just backwards.

Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I'm not :):):)

Appears to be. Look at the sg against the sc. Looks like the numbers got transposed between the two. The artwork in the folders match the romsets for the other system. Compare the games in the pack against the artwork for both systems and you tell me.

OK, home to post about this...

A snip from my roms folder, shows an sc-3000 and a sg-1000....

Looking into the artwork of the 3000, it starts with Bomberjack

But when I go to my corresponding rom collections, gotten from the mega share at arcade punks, its shows the numbers are reversed regarding the sc, sg against the 3000 and 1000

So, I look at the actual contents of one and see this one starts with Bomberjack, as the 3000 expects, which yes is weird with one saying 3000 and the other saying 1000

and the other collection holds the expected roms for the provided artwork. My Sega SG-100 expects Bank Panic, Japan, which is there. It struck me as odd but w/e, just make sure the files match the artwork.
