Hyperpie Auto Downloader

Post by Haggis » Wed Apr 19, 2017 6:07 pm

A lot of people asked about this so here it is, this script will allow you to have a blank Hyperpie/Motion Blue install and then download just the systems you want to use (thus making hyperpie a very small download in the future.

This script is in Beta, but myself and admins have been using it with great sucess

Warning: THIS IS BETA, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP PRIOR TO USING

Please heed the above warning, i have been using it and other admins have been using it and it all worked fine, but i will not be held responsible if it breaks your install

## Usage:
cd into the directory where your systems are stored

This is usually /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/

Code: Select all

wget http://www.retrohaggis.com/systems/system_download.sh
then

Code: Select all

chmod +x system_download.sh
then run it

Code: Select all

./system_download.sh
Please let me know about any bugs you find

the Script should check for missing zip utility and prompt to install or offer the option to install, a fresh retropie image lacks such utility as of 4.2 so the script will fail right out the door.

theres another bug in the script.

"31) # Nintendo Game Boy Colour - (1.2G)
clear
FILE=Nintend37c8f36e718b2f78ee7c62d00db3720eo\ Game\ Boy\ Colour.7z"

that should be "FILE=Nintendo\ Game\ Boy\ Colour.7z" otherwise it crashes the script.

There's a typo in the script as well as the filename on your server:

Code: Select all

60) # ZX Spectum - (603M)
        clear
        FILE=ZX\ Spectrum.7z
        DIR=zxspectrum
	ROMMD5=148cbb5c8be9ca977f57c8fa4a76a5bc
        check_download "$FILE" "$DIR" "$ROMMD5"
        ;;
The script searches for http://www.*****haggis.com/systems/ZX%20Spectrum.7z which hits 404 while the actual file is named "ZX Spectum.7z"

So you should rename the file on your host and eventually correct the 1st line i pasted above too.

Thanks for this :)
Fixed :) please redownload the script

Thanks for pointing it out :)

HAHA never mind I figure it out. For anyone else hit f4 on keyboard this will bring you to the command prompt. cd to directory as told and follow the rest. Great work! To me this the only way to build a hyperpie image! W000T!!!! Getting stocked after I get all my media and config emulators it time to put together cab!

Just a big thank you.
For the new ones. Its very simple. Or follow above from terminal (F4) or just copy path on your browser, download the script, copy it to your pi. Rename it if you wish to a simpler name ex hag.sh Then make it executable as per above and run it.
To fix spectrum open the sh in wordpad or notepad++ and just add ZX after the /ZX Spectrum.7z
You can also directly download any romset (for personal backup) via the browser and the correct name of the zip file.
Ex www.***********.com/systems/ZX Spectrum.7z
