Tutorial: Pi 3: Adding an Activity Light

Post by Haggis » Sat Apr 01, 2017 11:39 am

Things Needed:

LED (i chose red)
Ribbon cable (dupont) Female to Female

Image

So the pi3 has code built in to allow you to change the activity light work from GPIO

Add this line to /boot/config.txt

Code: Select all

dtoverlay=pi3-act-led,gpio=18
Connect your LED to the pi, the "18" above is the GPIO number NOT pin number

Connect the LED Positive to GPIO 18 and the Negative to any free ground pin

Turn on your Pi

Voila, Activity light

Tutorial Pi 3 Adding an Activity Light

Good tutorial.
But to make the texture you would have first had to do the unwrap so that you had a .bmp outline of the object to work on?
